1. A Fine Resource: Mockingbird friend Shawn Smith, has written a wonderful little series (on his blog) about Predestination, surveying some classic interpretations of the matter (including Augustine, Luther, Calvin, and others, though no Pascal). You might read them: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6

Remember the nice words from Article 17 of the wonderful 39: “…the godly consideration of Predestination, and our Election in Christ, is full of sweet, pleasant, and unspeakable comfort to godly persons…”

2. There’s a fresh interview with Mockingbird fave, Whit Stillman, up on the Village Voice site: here!

3. For fans of the “Emerging/Missional” Church: In 1978, in an attempt to show young people that Christianity is not uncool, the Austrian prog group Eela Craig, recorded their own version of a liturgical Roman Catholic mass. Here is their version of the Nicene Creed. Christian pop culture does not get more awesome than this:

4. Thornton Wilder quote of the week: “All love is overestimation.”
