The Vatican Forgives John Lennon…Finally

Good news Beatles fans! It’s the moment you have all been waiting for. Yesterday the Vatican announced that John Lennon was forgiven for his comment in 1966 that The Beatles were more famous than Jesus.

It seems the artist’s death 28 years ago and 42 years of reflection have granted the Vatican the perspective to say, The remark by John Lennon, which triggered deep indignation mainly in the United States, after many years sounds only like a ‘boast’ by a young working-class Englishman faced with unexpected success, after growing up in the legend of Elvis and rock and roll.” (Vatican daily Osservatore Romano)
