Perhaps you can tell her that the kittens are simply a metaphor for self-deception and the intractably sinful human heart, so that while we may appear to be one thing on the outside, Jesus sees people as they truly are…like an adorable kitten who belongs to the Illuminati.

That was disturbing. Being a cat owner, however, I can attest to the fallen nature of cats. While they can be extremely cute and cuddly they can also chew the crap out of your stereo wires just to get a rise out of you.
