Just came across this slightly out-of-sync video of Dylan doing “Jokerman” on Letterman in 1983. Definitely one of my favorite songs about Jesus, by Dylan or anyone. And although this version leaves out the final three verses, it also removes the 80s drum production that marred the original, seriously upping the rock power. I’d love to find out if they ever recorded this arrangement. You can read the lyrics here.

Did he have to get a different harmonica? It sounded like it was in the wrong key the first time he tried to play it…
